What color should I paint the walls?

I bought a very light gray top with black bottom sofa and a black chaise both nice leather. What color do I paint the walls?

I have a separate area for the dinette which will be marble too black bottom. All wood floors here. Black TV flat.

If you say white, is the trim white also?

And if I use semi-gloss is that ok for the ceiling also?

I hate the chaulk feeling. What color should I paint the walls?
I think with mostly black items, you can go with any color really, you could possibly get away with white walls and decorations, but i do think any color palette can go with black items (im not sure which color goes best with the floor though)What color should I paint the walls?
from what you've described your place is grayscale right now with a neutral (wood floors) - you can do any color you want! Only thing to keep in mine with a small room, just use a lighter/brighter color- and maybe add a mirror to the room to make it look bigger. I personally would not go with white because it would mesh with the baseboard- and white baseboards + a different wall color looks best! If you do go white, I think the only other acceptable color for trim other than white/off white would just be wood color- which would go well with white walls - but not go too well with your black/grey furniture.
I won't say white except for the trim and ceiling. You can go contemporary with a smokey teal or crisp aqua or sky blue. If you want an earthier feel, go with a warm mocha or coffee shade. Sometimes finding accent pillows that look great on your sofa can be the inspiration for your wall color. Now that I've reread your question and see that you have the light gray top I think I'd suggest something in the blue family.

A sage or celery green could work too:

I think pink would be good. Perhaps a geometric pink/black pattern on window treatments or area rugs. Use egg-shell not semi-gloss. Egg-shell isn't chalky but it isn't shiny. You can paint ceiling same color if you like or perhaps a shade or two lighter, but suggest flat paint. You don't want the ceiling to be at all reflective.
