How to stop a toddler from peeling paint off the walls?

My two year old daughter has a terrible habit that I am at wits end trying to break her of. She will peel the paint off of the wall. She has her bedroom door completely picked clear and has started working on the drywall in her room, which she has peeled down to some cardboard looking surface. She has even started to peel the paint from the living room wall when I put her in the corner for time-out. It's getting worse as time goes by... It was just a little bit at nap time, and now it's a bunch any time she feels like it. I can take my eyes away for a minute and find a new strip missing from the wall. She's even started peeling the covers off of her books too. Has anyone been through this before? Any ideas how to get her to stop? I have no idea what else to try.How to stop a toddler from peeling paint off the walls?
Well has she ever had a spanking? If not this would be the perfect opportunity to really set this action apart from all others.

Trying to replace that bad behavior with good only goes so far and when potentially she could eat this than its time to get a little more firm. Even have a relative or friend do it. Thats just what i would do.How to stop a toddler from peeling paint off the walls?
Give her something that she can peel. Glue some layers of paper on a piece of wood and let her go at it. Let her know it is okay to peel that, but not the walls.

Or don't?
I think spanking would be fine, but don't do it so it hurts! Just do it to surprise her and get her into shape.
peeling paint is not a good thing to have. so invest in primer and some tools and re-paint
