How do you paint a family room that has no separation from the walls in the breezeway & kitchen?

We would love to paint our family room, but the walls are all connected (open plan). We don't want to have to paint all of the walls and kitchen the same color! Help! We don't know the stop/start points for painting. How do you paint a family room that has no separation from the walls in the breezeway %26amp; kitchen?
My aunt had that same problem. One wall was shared by the living room, dining room, and family room with no definite separation. They picked two complimenting colors, painted the living room with the first color, in the dining room painted in alternating vertical stripes of both colors, and the family room in the second color. Then the entire area flowed and went together, but there are now three separate, definite rooms.

Hope that helps! How do you paint a family room that has no separation from the walls in the breezeway %26amp; kitchen?
Apply a small break on the wall surface. Something a simple as a stained wood 1x6.
Maybe you can create a short partition to divide the colors out for the 3 different section - something temporary.

eg - for kitchen ,you can add a bartop to be the partition and so on.

Wish you luck!
In my house the kitchen and hall share a wall. We just put a peice of wood trim along the wall to separate the 2. It dosn't look out of place either it looks like it goes with the rest of the trim.
