I have a very small galley kitchen with white appliances and white cupboards. We are installing a white subway tile backsplash and am wonder what colours I should paint the walls. Our countertop is purple and the picture is of it and the cupboards.

Thanks! What colour should I paint the walls? Pictures included!?
Typically there is not very much wall space in a galley kitchen, and because you selected white cabinetry, you could get away with a nice saturated paint color for your walls so the cabinets pop. With your purple toned counter tops, paint color choices to consider are:
Green tones: colors from sage green to deep lime green
Yellow tones: Saffron yellows, not sunshine yellow
Brown tones: Deep brown with either blue or red undertones, which are the two colors that make purple.
Colors to avoid: reds and blues if you don't want it to be to feminineWhat colour should I paint the walls? Pictures included!?
Wow, Kitty, you made a bold color choice with the purple in the counter tops - and I love it! There are lots of ways you could go with this, depending on what you have to work with.
In the photo of the counter top I see a lot of gray tones. You could pull from this color group to make the kitchen feel sophisticated. A warm beige gray would envelope the room. That would be a very safe way to paint and would allow the counter tops to stand out as a focal point.
On the other hand, if you want the walls to stand out, choose a color from the opposite side of the color wheel, from the yellow family. If choosing from this side of the color wheel, go with a warmer tone to complement your counter tops.
Is the kitchen part of other rooms, such as a family room? If so, you can choose your color palette from the fabrics and rugs in that room. Using an accent color from another room as the main color in your kitchen will pull it all together.
Your project can be a lot of fun! Choose what makes you happy and don't worry about making a mistake since you can always paint it again!
Your pics wouldn't pull up for me so I'm going blind with my answer. But one way to have fun with colors is to use the colorsmart visualizer on www.behr.com.

They have some sample pics of rooms (incuding kitchen) and you can play around with actual colors.
I'd go with a sage green or deep tan. Just depends on how you will accessorize the other items, ie. curtains, floors, and other decore.
It all Depends on your favoritecolor but I would advice you to try Air Force Blue that will match well with white.
I'd work with the counter color, maybe going with a richer purple color like plum. I think what you've got going so far sounds and will look great.
I suggest Cream color, as it matches with all the colors you described.
if this is because you plan to sell the property, then i would say cream or white
