What color should I paint my walls? (And other decor ideas/advice)?

My new bedroom desperately needs some paint. My furniture is all black. My comforter, pillows, etc., are red. I also have a huge black framed mirror, red/black metal artwork, and a long black collage photo frame. All other decor for dresser tops, etc. are red. Clearly, I need to add another color to this room. There is a bit of silver and gold on pieces of my furniture/decor, and I've been leaning towards those colors so far. But painting my entire room gold seems a bit over the top. Yet beige seems boring. Please help! All ideas would be fantastic!!What color should I paint my walls? (And other decor ideas/advice)?
you should totally do a silvery gray on most of the walls and one of your walls that you want to pop should be a ralph lauren metallic silverWhat color should I paint my walls? (And other decor ideas/advice)?
I would paint the walls a medium gray. It would make all of your wall decorations stand out, would also make the red and black look sharp.

I did this about 10 years ago in my living room, painted the walls a medium gray, my end tables, entertainment center and couch frame were black, but the cushions and my window covers were burgundy. Had many compliments n that room. When I sold the house the buyers asked to buy all furnishings in the room! Yes, I sold it to them!!
Well, if it were me I would do more detail in the walls than a solid color. You could paint two walls silver/grey and leave the other two white (i'm just assuming thats what color they are lol). Also you could put up an inexpensive trim up and only paint the bottom parts of the walls under the border. (This is KIND OF what i meant about the trim...it's not on the floor but however high up you would want....) http://www.justmoulding.com/userfiles/crownmoulding-ideas-2.jpg

Also, i think it might look really good if you painted all one color but with the other color just painted some very simple shapes/designs with the other. I kinda think this looks cool.... http://img.hgtv.com/HGTV/2008/06/03/hddsn102-black-bedroom_lg.jpg
well you could use a color wheel which most interior designers use to choose colors. complementary colors to red would be either green, red orange or red violet. also if you like tho gold or silver you could put bits in.

heres a color wheel : http://www.malanenewman.com/images/colorwheel_browsersafe.gif
you already have such strong colors in there that i think a gold would be overkill, being might seem a bit boring, i think a crisp white would make all of your other strong colors pop.
Try Tempe Star 6229 or tanquil aqua 7611 from this site:
