I can't paint, but white walls drive me crazy. What to do?

My house is being sold in a couple of months, so painting is completely out of the question. Plus I'll be moving into an apartment, which also won't let me paint, so I could use the tips there, too.

I heard from a friend that starch and fabric works, but does anyone have any experience with this? If so, can you post pictures? I'd appreciate it.

I definitely want an Arabian/Indian theme, so rich colors on the walls are a must. Or, I was also thinking, curtains? Hanging from the walls?

Idk, I'd appreciate any ideas you all might have. Or sites. Or anything, really. I just want a room that's mine, you know? And white walls are totally not me.

Starch and fabric works as a kind of wallpaper, I guess. And when you move you just soak it in water and it peels off. Or something.

Anything you guys have would be great, thanks. Even ideas for an Indian style bedroom. I'm open to suggestions.

Colors? Furniture? That sort of thing.

Thanks! %26lt;3I can't paint, but white walls drive me crazy. What to do?
i would hang tapestries, the cotton painted panels with design you like on them; you might even find sheets with the color you like or design you like; simply get curtain rods %26amp; hang (you don't have to hem them; they will slip over rod; rich blues, reds, whatever color YOU like best or fits your mood at the time; easily changeable when want to redo; i have even known of folks who hung patterned rugs on their walls; you can certainly hang some from the ceiling; try different options and find what YOU like best! you might also look for ';art'; work; baskets that are flat in back you can put on wall %26amp; add unique things in; brass items or whethered items; some of the unique swords that they have out nowadays with an arabic flaver to them; most are ornamental only; saw some unique ones at a yard sale yesterday %26amp; while not for me might be for you. Go to import shops %26amp; get ideas. Target even has world bazaar items. Flea markets are great; fairs are great; when you find something that really SPEAKS to you %26amp; you adore; get it %26amp; incorporate it into your house! check out thrift stores: get large frame %26amp; fill it with picture YOU love or material you love; ex: you find a skirt that you love the material of but would not wear: say one of those broom stick skirts: simply undo the skirt %26amp; use the material either on the wall or in a picture frame; some of the material is fantastic; they have fabric glue that you can use instead of sewing hems etc; and voila! a wonderful fabric you adore to add to your home. See how simple %26amp; easy it can be to fill your home full of things you love %26amp; that cover the walls? you can hang at whatever angle YOU want; doesn't have to be standard square or rectangular or whatever. have fun %26amp; good luck!I can't paint, but white walls drive me crazy. put pictures and posters on your wall, or curtains i put posters and pictures on my walls and they turned out fabulous but if that doesn't work maybe you should rent and apartment that will let you paint your walls, or you can pay your landlord a little more so you can paint and when you move out you have to pay to repaint it white

i hope i helped

good luck! :)
maybe large tapestries. or the folding room dividers. i might also suggest lighting. you can just put a colored bulb in an already there lamp, or get a specific lamp to shine on the wall with a colored bulb so you can still use reg lamps for light where and when needed. and what about a boarder? i have seen some that come off easily, but then again, some stick real well...

good luck. i hope you have fun ';fixing'; the white walls!
confusing--unless you give your mind it will be for us (dhool me lath)---you have some thing specific in your mind that you want to do and then ask which one is better this or that.

for example------ you say ideas for indian style bed room. bhala adami, give the dimensions and then tell it is master bed room or children bed room or guest room like that so many questions all vague. sorry dear
U may go IKEA to buy curtain, ive seen ther they sell really bright colour like red n green.U may use a curtain as yr bed frame.n can draw some lamp, flower, leave on the wall.U may draw bit by bit.don hv to finish on 1 day, that will make yrself tired. Can use a small vase to put some peacock feather on a side table.Enjoy deco! dun so stress, relax.
the starched fabric idea sounds gross. sorry. how about big lumber panels wrapped under fabric - they would simply lean up between your large furniture pieces and the wall? that's the best i can think of for your new apartment. for the house i dont have any ideas
Put 3-d glasses on.
hire someone to do it.
