Furniture is black, carpeting is brown... What color should I paint my walls...?

Just moved into a new construction home and my master bed/bath is white. Very boring. The ceilings are vaulted and the carpeting is a mixture of different shades of brown, and my furniture is black. I wanted to paint a greyish blue and my husband about had a heart attack and said we have to match w/ the carpet. I know nothing about decorating...what would look good? I want it to be soft and romantic but still match.

(Our downstairs is two-tone tan, very neutral, and looks great.)Furniture is black, carpeting is brown... What color should I paint my walls...?
deeper, earthy tones. a rusty red, deep spiced orange, anything muted and deeper will work great with both black and brown. Also doing a texture on the walls (wash with a sponge, rag rolling, etc) will help bring in a softer, more organic feelFurniture is black, carpeting is brown... What color should I paint my walls...?
play around with the Sherwin Williams color visualizer to find something that you like. It is the best paint visualizer on the web, imho. I like how their color palette is laid out, I like that you can search by color family %26amp; color name, the ';painted'; rooms look the most realistic, and it suggests coordinating color schemes. You can literally spend hours:

I suggest a color called ';empire gold'; (# 0012). It will coordinate beautifully with the brown %26amp; black, and it will give your bedroom a warm, peaceful %26amp; natural atmosphere.
I would have to see a pic of the carpet to get a better idea but some grays go with browns... It all just depends, the best thing to do (and I speak from experience) is to pick your comforter / bedding first and then paint the wall a color to match, we painted first and had a very hard time trying to find a set we liked. In fact we are going to be repainting soon because of the mistake - so pick your bedding and then go from there.
Grey is a very cool color and may detract from the cosy feel in your bathroom. If your husband is up for some color a red in the bathroom would be very cosy, or just an accent wall if he is scared of color.

A warm caramel my appease you both.
earthy tones.... on the darker side, like deep reds!!! :D or a really light green would be awesome!!!

Well if you want to match your carpet, I would say you should paint 2 of your walls a soft pink, and one a cream
Try Yellow!

off white or light brown
