Check out some paint swatches. Look into neutrals, taupe, warm gray, tan, etc. Make sure you look at the swatches in your room to get the right color. Hope this helps. RoxanneDark brown carpet and hunter green furniture what color should I paint the walls and color/type of curtains?
It depends upon how much light the apartment gets. If little light, go with a rich creamy tan or light taupe - just be sure the hues goes with the brown carpet. You can consider a mocha color if lots of light. Use your window treatments to tie these three colors together and probably add more colors to the room... so you're looking at a pattern - stripe, abstract, floral, etc. If you find something with only 2 of the colors you can add a band (ribbon, fabric, etc) to pick up the missing color. Use throw pillows that pull out the accent color.

Remember to add texture to the room - a cozy throw, a basket tray on the ottoman, even in the lamp shades you pick.
When you combine dark brown, light brown, hunter green, and black in varying increments, you can have a room that looks very stylish and contemporary.

My suggestion for the wall color would be a cafe au lait or a mocha. Stay away from yellow undertones in your paint, as they cause an odd reflection to come from the green in the room.

For a window treatment, you could go for with a patterned mocha curtain to contrast with the walls and carpet or a roman blind in a neutral color.

On your floor, you can relieve some of the dark brown color in the rug by placing a large area rug in front of your couch. A rug such as this: http://houseofarearugs.com/Aria-Ivory-Ci鈥?/a> lightens up a dark floor and gives a sense of style and continuity to your space.

A collage of black picture frames looks great on a mocha wall. Find varying black frames for photos and art work, then add a few decorative pieces in black such as a clock or wall sconces.
I would go for a warm tan like Oklahoma Wheat by Benjamin Moore.

For window treatments I would get as close to the color of the sofa as possible. Here are some ideas:

i have paint samples at my house that are green blue and brown. at wal-mart i got them and i think that blue looks good with them. the blue is a kilz and it's called blue splash and it's number or code thingy is R0420
A light Tan color and then try and find drapery that's the same color, it will help open up the room.
I would paint them a very pale mint green, almost white with a tint of mint green to it. In fact I would look at some whites with that tint.
