Been searching for this scary movie forever! Someone on here said it's name is Magic, but I'm trying to figure out if this is the same movie or another ventriloquist movie altogether? The guy takes pics of walls, and paints himself to blend in..all you can see are the whites of his eyes...It is an old scary movie..haven't EVER been able to find it since i was little and saw it on TNT...Please help!!Is the movie MAGIC the one about the ventriloquist that paints himself into walls?searching forever!?

featuring Carol Kane (from the original) you should DEFINATELY see it again!!!
That ending scene was one of the best ive EVER seen in a thriller!!!Is the movie MAGIC the one about the ventriloquist that paints himself into walls?searching forever!?
Magic is about a ventriliquist (Anthony Hopkins) who is going insane and is being told by his dummy to kill women. Ann Margret is the last victem the dummy wants killed.

We have rust colored deposits growing on painted white cement block basement walls..anyone know what this is?

It has to be seepage coming from your water system. I'm guessing it's on the inside of the the basement wall, not the outside.
Do you have a sprinkler system to water your lawn? Even treated city water can make rust stains on light-colored surfaces. If your lawn slopes toward your house instead of away from it, the water can seep into your basement through the blocks if they weren't properly backplastered. Easiest way to fix this would be to add some topsoil to your yard where it's low around the house so the water drains away from the house.
If you don't have sprinklers or low spots, is the problem near where your water enters your house? There may be a leaky water main out there. If that might be the case, call your city water department and have them check it out. A medium Grey with a black tone to it (rather than brown or green). That way it is in between the lt grey and the black stripe and will make the white stand out which is what you want with the black stripe.
Try looking foe a freize carpet that has grey and black tones(a mingled look) . One to look at is Kathy Ireland home collection 2 tone swirl, color bello...
I'd go with a nice red/burgundy.

(if you dont want to spend on chips use a solid bath towel or solid fabric because color truly needs to be seen on an expanse.) ... feel free to use free chips but be aware those little chips can fool the eye and worse be costly and aggravating in time and money spent. remember nowadays stores like Lowe's offer color matching with a scanner gun and a paint ';computer';. all you need to do is bring in your sample for the clerk to scan, the larger the better. you can also invest in paint samples and white boards but i think that method's more expensive than the large chips method. happy painting!

However, if you are painting a previously painted surface, it might be better to go with what was there before. Unless it is properly prepared, latex paint does not always adhere well to an oil based paint.
We used oil over the old oil based paint with good results, but we've also used latex graded for exterior use and had good results.

Will this smell go away? How long? What if I get real paint and paint over it?
I am a woman who likes to take on home projects. I found this ';paint'; color at my dads. I think it is sour joint compound not paint. Yes, maybe women should do home projects. A for effort????
P.S. My son is coming home from Marine boot camp Friday, I wanted to make things nice for him and I think I really screwed up.Please don't judge. I used a gross sour smelling ';paint'; on my walls. Turned out to be joint compound.?
paint over it,and put a couple drops of vanilla extract in the paint per gallon and stir it in good. the paint wont bring the old smell back.Please don't judge. I used a gross sour smelling ';paint'; on my walls. Turned out to be joint compound.?
was the paint left out in the cold if so paint will freeze and go bad it will have a bad rotten odor it should go away in a few days if not put one a coat of kills then repaint with new paint kill s can be bought at any paint store
You can't paint with joint compound; so I can only assume you are kidding? And joint compound has no odor.

Did you try Hobby Lobby? They have hundreds of stencils. I saw one time on hgtv they made their own stencil by printing a graphic art piece onto some thick cardstock and just cut it out with an exacto knife...you'd have to be a very meticulous person to be able to do that though.
EDIT: I just thought of another way to do this. I remember seeing it on hgtv: You can rent one of those projector deals like they used back in school and project the image on the wall...then just trace it!
